Choosing the right MIA parking

The simplest way to pick MIA parking is by trip length. For day trips and overnight stays, the central garages — Dolphin, Flamingo, and Park 4/6 — are connected directly to the terminals and worth the higher daily rate. For trips of three days or more, the Economy Lot's lower nightly rate quickly outweighs the small inconvenience of the shuttle ride.

If you are arriving in time-pressure, valet parking at Terminals E and F is the fastest option — drop the car curbside, hand over the keys, and walk straight into ticketing. For families or oversize vehicles, the Dolphin and Flamingo garages have dedicated bays for larger SUVs, vans, and trucks, with extra-wide spaces near the elevators.

Picking up vs. dropping off

Quick pickups don't require parking — use the cell phone waiting lot just past the Economy Lot exit. It's free, has a 20-minute limit, and is roughly four minutes from the arrivals curbs. For drop-offs, the upper (departures) level of every terminal is curbside-only — you cannot wait, only actively unload.

Reserve in advance to lock in rates and guarantee a spot during peak travel periods (December holidays, spring break, summer). MIA's online reservation system handles all six lots and accepts changes up to the time of arrival. For premium services like valet and meet-and-greet, advance booking is strongly recommended.
