Connected from London to Bogotá in under 90 minutes. Skytrain made the gate change painless and the Admirals Club had a quiet upper deck. Lines at customs were the longest part — give yourself two hours minimum if checking bags.
MIA Traveler Reviews
Honest, dated traveler reviews of Miami International Airport — terminals, parking, lounges, and ground transport.
Drove in for a 7am flight and circled the central garages twice trying to find a spot near Terminal F. The Flamingo and Dolphin garages do connect by skywalk, but the entrance lanes from LeJeune Rd are confusing if it's your first time. Once parked it was fine.
British Airways Galleries in Terminal J is now my favorite lounge in the U.S. The terrace is rare in any North American airport — sat watching A380s arrive while sipping a cortado.
Skipped the rideshare lot, walked to the MIA Mover, and was at Brickell in 22 minutes for $2.25. Would do it again every time, even with a roller bag.
MIA used to be a food desert but Terminal D has La Carreta, Cafe Versailles, and a real Joe & The Juice now. The Cuban sandwich at La Carreta is the move.
Sunday afternoon TSA in Terminal H took 45 minutes. PreCheck was 5. The standard line snakes back into the parking-garage skywalk during cruise turnover days.
How we collect reviews
The reviews above are submitted by readers of MiamiAir Guide who have recently traveled through MIA. We publish them with author first name and last initial, the date of submission, and a star rating from 1 to 5. We don't edit reviews for content beyond removing personal contact information and obvious profanity. Submissions that are clearly promotional, abusive, or fabricated are not published.
Have an experience to share? Use our Contact page to send your review along with your travel date, the terminal you used, and a brief description of what worked or didn't. We review submissions weekly and add them to this page in chronological order.
Patterns we see in MIA reviews
Across thousands of MIA traveler comments, a few themes recur. The Skytrain in Terminal D wins consistent praise for making American Airlines connections quick. The MIA Mover and Metrorail combination is repeatedly called out as the best-value airport transit in Miami — slow but cheap and predictable. TSA wait times are the most common frustration, especially during weekend cruise turnover. Parking signage, particularly the inbound approach to the central garages, also draws complaints from first-time MIA drivers. Dining and shopping at MIA earn middling marks — better than most U.S. airports, less standout than Singapore Changi or Dubai International.
